On the road

Well, its been 5 days on the road and we ended in Saugreties NY. We have had good traveling weather, nice and cool up here....its been cool ever since NC. We had downpours in Fl, GA and SC but thats it.
Our first day out we were 20 miles from our destination and we had a tire blow on the trailer, which then the tread let loose and damaged the side the trailer, but all was well. Zach was impressed as he thought it was "just like Nascar!".
We visited the Marine Museum in Washington DC.....which is fascinating.
Tomorrow we arrive in Vermont and that ends the traveling portion of our new adventure.
Driving the Penske has been easy. It tops out at 70mph, but that can be a good thing when your tired and just want to get the driving over with......I would say I could easily develop lead foot.

Thats it for now....tired. Will post a few pictures in the next day or so.

Burn night

Last Friday night, Josh had burn night when all the families can come, have a bbq and then watch the boys (and 1 girl) put out various fires with the approaches and techniques they have been learning all week. I'm trying something new with pictures. I'm putting a link for a slideshow. Let me know if this works for you.

Josh graduates a week from Friday and is so happy! He loves what he is doing and can't wait to go out and get a job as a Firefighter. We are proud of him.

Tina and Josh are not moving to Illionois......thats the newest news I know, but will be moving when he finds a job to Orlando/Ocala area. Updates later.

11 days and counting

Sunday, June 1, 2008

Its June 1st. Only 20 days to go. Its been a busy week. Yesterday we went down to the beach for Tina's graduation get together with her father, aunt and brother who came from Illinois. It was a nice day, but way too hot. We all used spf 30 and still got burnt. We found a lot of starfish and sand dollars.

Today we had Zachs bday party at the bowling alley so all his friends that he wanted to come could celebrate his bday before the end school. It was very nice. They bowled 2 games, ate pizza, played arcade games had cake and that was it!! No hassle, no clean up.

Phil and Lorraine have already left to return to Vermont. Trailer living is going ok, but we can also use the house which makes it a little easier.

Thats it for now.

4 weeks and counting

We are now in the final countdown until moving day. Its hard to believe its almost here. The time will go by fast between working, Zachs last 2 weeks of school, Tinas graduation and family festivities, Joshs graduation and festivities and Zachs birthday party to be celebrated before the end of school. Living in the trailer is not so bad but we will sure enjoy and wide open space of a real home when its completed.
Its getting hot here in Florida and I'm not sad to leave.

I started this post as a way to post pictures and information of whats going on in our world. I will attach links to slide shows or just post pictures. I got this idea from a lady at Joes Pond who posts information as well as pictures very regularly, of the area we are moving to. Its been a window for us to see what its like up there at all times of the year. So....with that in mind....I hope that you will add this link to your favorites and check it frequently to see and read what is going on in our world!
